Mount Hutt is the largest ski area in Canterbury. From the on-piste with a mixture of man made and natural snow to the many off-piste areas with wide-open bowls, steeps and shutes, there is plenty of terrain for every level of skier.

There is a also a large beginners area in front of the base buildings, with wide groomed runs running the length of the field for intermediates and experts, and those who wish to ski or board off-piste. The Towers and South Face offer plenty of varied terrain for the more advanced skier.

Conditions permitting there is also backcountry skiing down North Peak with a helicopter pick up which drops skiers back at the car park.
